Old Business-
The club memorial trophy is it at Four Seasons Trophy being engraved.
Medora 2021 car show update by Mark S. Chief Lapp said no to closing all of 6th Street. The plan is now to use part of 6th Street, the north and south parking lots and the grassy area by the community center, plus the grass area south of the Badland’s Motel. Kinley Slaughter of the Foundation said the area would probably be available. Street would have a center opening for emergency vehicles with diagonal parking on one side and regular parking on the other side with driveways left open. Waiting for Chief Lapp to approve this plan. Mark will try again Monday to contact him. The bookstore parking lot is also available but is now far removed from the rest of the show. Registration would be on the southeast side of the Community Center. Currently the Schafer auditorium is limited to 30 people. The gym is also usable but has limits on it too. Will have to wait on COVID restrictions. If still restricted, no entertainment Friday night and only car owners and presenter would be allowed. Will need to find a way to live stream the event. Will need to be highly organized for this show and need more and larger signs and maps for participants. Need to stress preregistration for organization and to know what cars are coming. Put maps on web page to show where car classes will be parked. Pioneer Auto Club, Prairie Cruiser’s and the Glendive club have all said they would help us with manpower.
Banquet will be brought up at the February meeting. Will probably be catered at the church when a date is decided.
New Business-election of officers
Anneliese nominated Andrew Rohwedder for president. Mark S. seconded. Nominations cease and cast a unanimous ballot by Robert.
Anneliese nominated Laura Sickler for vice president. Mark H seconded. Nominations cease and cast a unanimous ballet by Mark H.

Dakota Western Auto Club Minutes
President, Andrew Rohwedder called the meeting to order at 3:03 pm at Our Saviors Lutheran Church,
December 13, 2020 with 6 members present
The Secretary’s minutes were read and instead of the Mandan group it should read Pioneer Auto Club of
Bismarck. With that correction, a motion to accept the minutes by Jan, seconded by Sharon and the minutes stand approved.
Treasurer’s Report-  Expense of $20 to ND Dept. of Transportation. One bill to reimburse Andrew for 4 Season’s Trophy engraved plate for trophy for $4.79. Motion to pay bill and accept the report by Sue, second by Jan, motion carried.
Correspondence: A letter was received from Medora if anyone is interested in becoming a business member.
Events:
Cars & Coffee, City Brew Prairie Hills Mall parking lot. Saturdays 7am-9am (weather permitting). This event has possibly moved to the West Family Fair where there is a gathering space inside for coffee.
Old Business-
Andrew brought the club memorial trophy and will take it back to Four Seasons Trophy to have Joe Berger’s name added. No word on a new home for the trophy. Possibly the Library or Service Printers.
Medora 2021 car show info presented by Mark S. Mark S. and Mark H. went to the Medora City Commission meeting on Nov.11th in Medora. The commission would like the north/south streets left open. Cars would be limited to 6th Street and Broadway with no blocking of alleys but could block private driveways. Western Edge Books said we could use their parking area also for show cars. If we diagonal park on both sides of the street at 10 feet apart this plan will fit 200 cars. The center lane of every street must be left open for emergency vehicles. This plan has good flow for viewing of cars. Registration would be near the Community Center and again we would
need people at every intersection. This plan is definitely doable for the club with extra help. This plan has been submitted to Medora and Chief Lapp for approval. Mark is waiting to hear from the police chief and has been unable to get ahold of him. He will try for the 3rdtime on Monday. Chief Lapp is opposed to closing streets and would like to see us at Chimney Park. He is not excited about a car parade either. The Roosevelt Room at the Community Center is available for us to rent. Cannot use golf carts; any vehicle
used must be licensed and street legal. Trailer parking in town will be prohibited, including the north side of the community center. Trailers may park at the rodeo grounds or by the old service station near the turn to the musical. The Foundation has volunteered to run a shuttle from these two areas. Streets would need
to be blocked the night before and the city of Medora would be providing, placing and removing all traffic control devices. Nothing was checked out on the use of Chimney Park but the superintendent didn’t seem opposed to it. Thanks to Mark S. and Mark H. for their time and work on trying to secure a site for the car show in Medora.
Dues are due in January. Dues can be mailed to Sharon or to Dakota Western Auto Club, P.O. Box 725 Dickinson, ND 58602-0725. Dues are $10 per household.
The survey for the banquet was overwhelmingly to postpone it. No banquet in January or February.
Good of the Order
The next meeting is January 10, 2021 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 3 pm. Probably no lunch will be served.
Rex is fighting COVID19 and is hospitalized in Fargo. Joe Berger has passed away, his funeral was December 12, 2020.
Meeting adjourned 3:41 pm.

Vice-president Anneliese Schmidt called the meeting to order at 3:02 pm at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, November 8, 2020 with 11 members & guests present:
The Secretary’s minutes were read and Andrew, not Sharon, took the trophy to Four Seasons. With that correction, a motion to accept the minutes by Mark S, seconded by Bob and the minutes stand approved.
Treasurer’s Report-  Income $10 from dues and no expenses. One bill is due for $20 for the trailer license renewal. Motion to pay bills and accept the report by Mark H, second by Walter, motion carried.
Events:
Cars & Coffee, City Brew Prairie Hills Mall parking lot. Saturdays 7am-9am (weather permitting). This event has possibly moved to the West Family Fair where there is a gathering space inside for coffee.
Old Business-
Andrew took the club memorial trophy to Four Seasons Trophy and it is being processed. No word on a new home for the trophy.
Medora 2021 car show info presented by Mark S.  Have permanently lost the old show grounds.  Mark S. will be meeting with the Medora City Council on Nov. 11th and will be able to do the meeting over the phone. We need ½ mile of street closure, with diagonal parking on both sides for 250 cars. Mark is trying not to impact traffic or block private homes but it still requires closing ½ of the streets in Medora. This show will require many more people to help and we will need to be more organized than ever since it is spread out. People would be needed at every intersection and to help cars back in their spots. Back to the 50’s in Minneapolis is the week before our show so Prairie Cruisers would be willing to help but they don’t want the Mandan group to feel like they are stepping on their toes, per Mark H. Glendive is not having a show and they will bring up helping us at their meeting. It would also be possible to host if we used every street in town and only put cars on 1 side. Mark will also ask that trailer parking on streets that weekend be banned and that Medora provide traffic control equipment for us to use. He will also ask again about the use of golf carts but state law says no. However, side by sides would work legally. The foundation has offered to run a shuttle that Saturday. The Roosevelt Room at the Community Center is still available for us to rent.
Nothing was checked out on the use of Chimney Park.
Parking on Grazing Association land is a firm no even after the foundation offered to provide a $5 million insurance policy for Saturday of the show.
Thanks to Mark S. for all his time and hard work on trying to secure a site for the car show in Medora.
Ann checked with the Eagle’s about the banquet and they have not gotten back to her with a menu or prices. Mulligan’s would cater and his prices are $14.95 to $17.95 per plate plus tax and tip. Price dependent on what is ordered. Do we want to go to a club or have it at the church?
New Business-dues are due in January.
Good of the Order
The next meeting is December 13, 2020 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 3 pm.  Probably no lunch will be served.
Andrew is fighting COVID19.
Mark S. was contacted by an attorney in Waterford City and this attorney is producing a film about the lynching at the Schafer jail in the 1930’s. The site is east of Watford City and this gentleman is looking for authentic period vehicles and people to drive them. He is not looking for “pretty” show cars.
Meeting adjourned 3:41 pm.

Dakota Western Auto Club Minutes
President Andrew Rohwedder called the meeting to order at 3:02 pm at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, October 11, 2020 with 12 members present:
The Secretary’s minutes were read and there was a motion to accept the minutes by Ann, seconded by Bob and the minutes stand approved.
Treasurer’s Report- No income or expenses. Current balance $7,227.94. Motion to accept the report by Walter, second by Bob, motion carried.
Events: Cars & Coffee, City Brew Prairie Hills Mall parking lot. Saturdays 7am-9am (weather permitting).
Old Business- Mark H. brought the Club’s Memorial trophy. It has been at his office but needs a new home. The Library or City Hall were mentioned as possible places. Motion to add Dave Anderson’s name to the trophy by Mark H, second by Bob, motion carried. Sharon will take the trophy to Four Season’s Trophy to have the plaque added.
Medora 2021 car show info presented by Mark S. Major changes are coming to the site and there will be very little, if any, of the grass area for car display. Construction and re-grading is planned. We will have to plan show without the usual location. Mark S. is in contact with Mr. Slaughter from the Foundation. Mark H. emphasized the uniqueness of our show with the categories and grouping of the cars, along with the Community Center. The club will have to work with the Medora City Commission on getting 6th Street closed off and maybe being able to show on one side of other streets with diagonal parking. Classes would be assigned to certain streets. Unknown what will happen to 6th Street during construction. For showing 200 cars the need is 1⁄2 mile of curb space. Traffic would have to be restricted on streets but a lane for emergency vehicles would need to be left open. Also, golf carts are not street legal in Medora. Grazing Association said no to letting us use their area across the railroad tracks. Mark S. will try to get on the City Commission schedule for November. Second choice would be Chimney Park but this is not a convenient location. Mark S. will check out rules about parking on grass and if Medora would provide a shuttle. Final option is returning the show to Dickinson, Speaker system would work for a spread out show and there is a possibility of receiving broadcasts on car radios. Also, would need more help with a spread out show, especially parking everyone. Possibly Mandan or Glendive clubs would help. Prairie Cruisers is unavailable as they usually attend Back to the 50’s in Minneapolis.
New Business- The banquet in January was brought up. Ann will check with the Eagle’s or possibly Mulligan’s could cater it. Will there be a silent auction?
Program- After adjournment Bob’s video “Half Moon Road” was shown about dwarf cars.
Good of the Order The next meeting is November 8, 2020 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. Marie Anderson is the hostess. Thank you to Ann for providing lunch today. It was enjoyed while everyone watched the video. Robert T. is fighting COVID19 and is home after spending 4 days in ICU in Bismarck. Carl is having heart valve replacement soon.
Meeting adjourned 3:45 pm. Motion by Kathy and seconded by Ann.

The Secretary’s minutes were read and there was a motion to accept the minutes by Ken, seconded by Arnie and the minutes stand approved.
Treasurer’s Report- none given.
 Events:
Cars & Coffee, City Brew Prairie Hills Mall parking lot. Saturdays 7am-9am (weather permitting)
Dickinson 701 Auto Enthusiasts final cruise night for the year, October 3, 2020, at 6 pm.
Old Business-
Medora’s zip-line is doing a brisk business. We will have to watch construction to see how much more space the car show will lose.
New Business-
Ann attended Rebel’s car show. Well attended, nice show. Craft, food & drink vendors.
Mark H. stated that about half of the original car show site in Medora is no longer usable and we need to look at other options. Possibilities include using 1 side of the city streets and/or having 6th street closed. This would spread out the car show.  Thoughts on moving the show to Chimney Park but then we would not have the Community Center with the Winner’s Circle, air conditioning and restrooms. Dynamics will change but The Dakota Western car show was unique with everything in easy walking distance, the Community Center and displaying cars in divisions not all mixed together. People respected us for this and also recognized this distinction. Chimney Park is state land and last time we asked about its use we were told it would have to be on the pavement. The Medora hosted show this year was on the grass.
The contact that Mark S. had with the foundation is no longer employed there and he is having trouble getting answers from anyone.
Mark H. has the club memorial trophy and will bring it to the next meeting. We will need to have Dave Anderson’s name added to the trophy.
Program- None
Good of the Order
The next meeting is October 11, 2020 at 3:00 pm and will try to hold it in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church parking lot.
Ann S. is selling Titan Saver Cards. $20 each.
Thank you to Ken & Eloise for the delicious lunch that was enjoyed by all.
NO LUNCH for the October meeting.

Discussion: the show is a luxury, not a necessity; if postpone you cannot plan for it, people schedule vacations early and we may be stepping on another shows date.
